Cool. If you'd like, please send me your e-mail address so I can get you on our radar for pro forms and technical info. Make sure you check out our teaching resources at http://backcountryaccess.com/english/education/teaching.php.

I love Alaska! Just got back from a trip to Valdez and Kodiak. Off the charts!

No, I teach at the local university, but of course I know Blaine and Nancy! They were my instructors back when I was taking Avy Level 1.

Thanks for writing, Bruce! That is great news about the new harness on the Tracker2. We'll have to check it out. I've been recommending the Tracker to all of the students I've taught this year, since it's so easy for them to learn and so basic to use. The price is reasonable and sometimes that's the deciding factor, so kudos for making an accessible product for backcountry folk.

Dear GearGals,

Thanks for your feedback on our Tracker DTS. We're glad you think it's the most intuitive--and best value--beacon out there. Glad to hear your only beefs are the bright LED's and the harness. Most people really like the bright LED's; they're much easier to see than LCD's, and work much better in the cold (like Alaska). You're right that some women (and men with sensitive necks) think our harness needs improvement. Our Tracker2 has a harness that's much more neck-friendly, adjustable, and lower profile. That should be available in the fall. Feel free to e-mail me back with any further questions.
